What Makes Churros Poppers Irresistible?

Churros Poppers are the ultimate treat for several reasons. Their bite-sized form makes them perfect for snacking, sharing, or serving at parties. The outer crisp, coated in a heavenly mix of cinnamon and sugar, gives way to a soft, doughy interior, creating a contrast that’s hard to resist. Plus, they’re surprisingly easy to make, requiring just a few ingredients and some simple kitchen tools.

Serving and Storage Tips

Churros Poppers are best served fresh but can be reheated in a 400°F oven for 3–6 minutes. Avoid coating them in cinnamon-sugar if you plan to reheat. For an extra treat, serve with chocolate sauce, caramel, or dulce de leche for dipping.

Indulge in bite-sized bliss with these Churros Poppers, coated in a heavenly cinnamon-sugar mix for the perfect crispy and tender treat. Quick and easy, they’re a delightful twist on the classic churro.

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup water
  • 21/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Oil for frying

  1. In a medium bowl or brown paper bag, combine the 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon; set aside.
  2. Heat about 2-1/2 inches deep of oil in a deep-fryer to 375°F.
  3. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, 2-1/2 tablespoons sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Bring the mixture to a boil and then remove it from the heat. Stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  4. When the dough is cool enough to handle, scoop and lightly roll the dough into balls about the size of walnuts. Fry 3-4 dough balls at a time, being sure not to overcrowd the pan until golden brown. Remove from the oil and immediately shake or stir in the reserved cinnamon-sugar mixture. Remove to a plate while you repeat the process with the remaining dough.
  5. Serve immediately.

  • While these little treats rock on their own, you can dip them into chocolate sauce, melted Nutella, caramel sauce, or dulce de leche for even more awesomeness!
  • A cookie scoop helps keep the poppers in uniform size, but you could also use a rounded measuring spoon.
  • When rolling these, you want a gentle roll – just enough to form a ball.
